Carabao Cup: Solskjaer sets new target for Man Utd players after Brighton win

Manchester United manager, Ole Gunnar Solskjaer, has asked his players to go one step further, after they qualified for the Carabao Cup quarter-finals on Wednesday night.

The Red Devils fought off a spirited performance from Brighton to win 3-0, thanks to goals from Scott McTominay, Juan Mata and Paul Pogba.

Last season, United lost three semi finals – Carabao Cup, FA Cup and Europa League.

Solskjaer, speaking after the game, urged his players to do better this season.

“It will definitely be a drive for us this season to go further than last year.

“We are already in the quarter finals, this is a job well done and of course the semi final defeats are going to hurt.

“So we have to make sure we can do better this season and that’s the target,” he said.
